SED 450 - Internship Site-based Experience

Provides observation, assessment, instructional and management opportunities in the special education classroom under the mentorship of a classroom teacher and University supervisor. The intern assumes increasing responsibility for directing the classroom. In addition to the elementary or secondary internship experience in a general education classroom, candidates complete a special education internship of either 10 weeks in an elementary special education classroom or 15 weeks in a secondary special education classroom. Requires at least 180 hours and 8 weeks of site-based internship work in a classroom setting for students with learning disabilities.
