EDU 353 - Teaching Science and Math STEM in K-8 Schools


Credit Hours: 4

A practical learning laboratory. Examines a variety of techniques, activities, and methods for teaching science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in elementary and middle schools. Emphasizes understanding and using Michigan Science Standards and Common Core State Standards in developing objective-based lesson plans. Includes site-based application of pedagogical content knowledge and effective practices in supervised settings under certified teachers and the instructor.

Prerequisite: SOE admission and B- or better in NSC 200  and MAT 330  or MAT 331  
Clinical, Internship, or Practicum Hours: Off-campus site visits
