Examines the production and transmission of written materials in the ancient world. Focuses on the strengths and weaknesses of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek as vehicles of written communication. Evaluates and compares the various theories of canonization and examines the historical process by which they occurred. Includes principles of text criticism, text assessment, and decision-making related to various translations.
