SWK 629 - Clinical Social Work Practice and Theory: Beyond Freud Credit Hours: 3
Provides an understanding of modern-day theories. Covers Cognitive, Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma Therapy, Crisis Theory, Solution Focused Theory, Narrative Theory, and Play Therapy. Each will be viewed through the lens of major contributors to the theory, basic theoretical principles, goals, interventions, research findings and limitations. Integrates practice methods and case studies with social work values and ethics.
